AT&T problems on iphones in general??

hello! recently starting about wednesday (9/30) i’ve noticed problems with my phone/ service. has anyone else had any issues lately? i’ve noticed my cell service will go from 4 bars to 3 to 2 to 1 all in the same spot of my house which has never happened before. when i am out and not connected to wifi i sometimes get texts 3-6 minutes late, along with notifications from life360, snapchat, etc.

for context, i am on iphone 16 p*o (it wouldn’t let me post with the word not redacted). i have not updated to ios 27 as i do not have enough storage. i was going to upgrade to the iphone 18 p*o but ive seen a lot of problems with the new phones in general. any help??

Cybersecurity tips for a beginner that is worried.

Hello! Recently I had something happen with my apple account (you can see the post on my profile). Although I do know what happened and it was a mistake but I am still worried. Since that happened I realized just how reliant I am on my phone (phone #, passwords, banking, etc.).

I always set up 2 FA, I have my e-sim locked, I generally don’t post on social media (reddit is the most i’ve posted really), I try not to download things I don’t know, I keep internet traffic to a minimum (social media, paying bills online, the normal stuff).

So, are there any tips you have for someone who is worried about cybersecurity? I am possibly looking to change emails to a safer email, changing my router to help protect it better, or anything you can suggest! I just don’t know where to start so please help!

Edit: sorry to add a question, I mostly play games on my Ipad, and occasionally sims on my mac (i just deleted the mods i had cause i realized how dangerous that was). Should I delete games from my devices as well to help?

2023 Camry Transmisson

Hello! I am coming on here to ask about my 2023 toyota camry transmission. I bought my car at 46k miles a little over a year ago. After I bought it I noticed that when I would go to a rolling stop and press the gas pedal my car would “hiccup” (I think that’s the term to use). I just saw a tik tok about toyotas and their 8 speed transmissions and apparently my car has one.

I just took my car to the mechanic on friday cause I thought my transmission was getting worse but no codes came up and he said he thought it was “just the way the car shifted.” He recommended a transmission fluid change since i’m almost at 60k miles, which I was planning on doing soon anyway. I did not go to the dealership cause their diagnostic test was more expensive. I was wondering, should I go to the dealership and get it diagnosed there and see if they can help me in anyway?

I still have the powertrain warranty since i’m only at 56k miles and I need to go to the dealership anyway to get my oil changed soon. What do you think is the best way to go about this? I’m just trying to take the best care of this car so it will last me!

Edit: I looked and have the UB80 transmission, I wish I would have known this before buying the car. I thought toyota was the best 😭

macOS recovery after weird emails?

Hello! I have never had this happen and i was wondering if anybody had ever had it happen to them? I woke up this morning to an email saying my apple pay on my macbook was suspended. It was weird so i tried to charge my computer (haven’t used it much since i graduated grad school). As i was putting my macbook password in it restarted and went into macOS recovery mode.

I didn’t even know this was a thing and this is the 2nd macbook i’ve owned. When it went into recovery mode apple sent me an email saying my macbook was locked but i never locked it? On find my it is perfectly fine!

I checked my devices on my apple account, all devices I know and there have been no other emails. I called apple and they confirmed that nothing has been changed or updated. They told me to change my apple password and log back into my macbook and do recovery as well as change my login password for my MacBook. Any clue as to what this could be or any advice?

Pipe noises, normal or not?

Hello, for context I inherited this house from my dad and I am a first time homeowner (without my dad here) so I am a little anxious! Towards the later half of 2025 my pipes started to make noise when the washer would stop running water or the kitchen sink would stop running water. You could only hear it in the main bathroom and since the water heater is in the attic the room closest to the water heater is the main bathroom. I thought I was hearing the water heater or the pipes making noise because it was cold.

Recently in March we had someone come look at our plumbing since I was anxious. Turns out the water heater is the original water heater from 1976, and my dad turned up the water heater to the max so the plumber had to turn it down and I thought that would be the end of my issues. (Don’t worry tho, we are getting the water heater and copper pipes connected to the water heater replaced soon!)

I thought I was good but the noises started up again and have gotten a little worse (to where i can hear them in the kitchen now). Does anybody know what could be causing this? Everything says water hammer but I am worried it is something else. I included a video I just took so you can hear the noise, I have more videos from earlier times if needed. Please help!

I recently learned about AT&T wireless account lock. when trying to turn it on it comes up with this message. i called to ask, but all the representative did for me was tell me that it prevents all changes from my account and try to sell me their wifi. I am the only person on this account and there is only one phone on this account. the app doesn’t need to be updated and i recently logged out and logged back in. is anybody else have this problem and know how to fix it?
