Hello all. I have been a fan of the Camry for the past two years. And now finally I can purchase one. I am debating between two options.

I have a good deal on a loaded SE and a good deal on a basic XSE. The SE I love for the white exterior with the black accent parts the Camry has all around. And the interior the SE has is black. The XSE is underground exterior with red leather interior.

When it comes to looks, for me, the SE wins on exterior. But the XSE beats the SE in digital features. The XSE has that very customizable meter while the SE does not.

While the meter makes me want to go XSE, I’m not sure the red leather will be as cool in a couple years. The SE seems like a better financial choice but I don’t love the digital meter nearly as much.

Hoping to hear thoughts on XSE and SE to help me decide. If anyone has an XSE in underground color, please send me a photo as I haven’t seen many actual photos of it yet besides dealer photos. I’ve been in the white Camry and liked it but maybe the grey is better. 🤷‍♂️

I've got a 2000 Camry 2.2 that struggles and often shuts off only when idling, but only after being driven for quite a while. The car runs great, starts great, and the A/C is great. We've cleaned the throttle body and replaced the IAC, EGR valve, and O2 sensor. We've noticed that when we unplug the alternator, the car's RPMs rise a bit and drop when we plug it back in. We think the bearings are worn, and when they heat up, the engine struggles and sometimes shuts down. Could it be the alternator - or could it be something else, like the A/C compressor going out? Frustrating...

UPDATE: Replacing the alternator seems to have solved the issue, but time will tell.

Just to share: I totaled my beautiful 2025 Camry with 13000 miles on it August 1. It’s under investigation bc my VIN was on the recall list. I always check my BSM but never heard or saw anything before impact with car in other lane. It’s been very stressful and I’m glad nobody was hurt badly. EDR has been pulled to determine what exactly happened or didn’t happen with Safety Sense. I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I have faith in Camry but this wasn’t driver error. I’ve never had an accident before at 67. Be safe. I purchased a 2026 Camry to replace so I’m not downing Toyota at all.

If so, what were the pros and cons of doing that? I have a lightweight set of tires + wheel + TPM sensor package that I'm thinking about getting for my 2026 SE, then sell the OEM 18"

I have a 2026 camry and everytime i'm at the drive thru I hear a whine noise. It happens when i let off the brakes slightly and then also when pressing on the brakes.

Is this something to be concerned for? I have 1500 miles on the car right now

A driver backed up quickly while turning, against the flow of traffic, and struck the rear side of a family member's car, damaging the right side door, rear side panel, tail light, bumper and dislodged a rubber stopper inside the rear right trunk hinge. The insurance immediately found the other driver at fault, and this is going on the other driver's insurance. Unfortunately the insurance company is trying to total the vehicle to get out of paying the full cost of the repair.

Given the choice, if they could keep the vehicle for appraised cash value less deducted auction value and have it repaired for another few thousand; or 2) purchase a similar Camry of similar model year for $1000 or so above the ACV payout; or 3) buy a newer model year Camry or similar vehicle (say a 2010 or 2015) for far more, which would you suggest?

Ive been searching for a car. Finally i stumbled upon a toyota camry se 2020. Mileage is 97,000. Stated at $16,500.

Heres the thing.

It was in auction for primary damage being hail damage. Dealer bought it, dealers profession is fixing body work. Now they are trying to resell it.

It is in Texas.
Title is listed as Clean title.
Although it is in the carfax that primary damage was Hail dame.

It also states secondary damage : Miscellaneous damage and missing parts.

Which could be anything.

What do you guys think. ?

So I was about to purchase a 2025 Toyota Camry LE Sedan 4d 28 miles. But as I was looking at the carfax, in the date 08/06/2026 it said Recall NHTSA #26V511 STATUS: Remedy yet not available.

Is this a big no?. I would appreciate the advice.
