2015 Camry Hybrid water pump swap: how do I release this orange HV cable fastener blocking a pump bolt?

Working on a 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid (2.5L 2AR-FXE). I'm replacing the engine electric water pump for code P261B. New pump is AISIN WPT-191 (Toyota 161A0-39025).

The problem: an orange high-voltage cable runs right in front of one of the 5 pump bolts. I can't get a socket or wrench on that bolt without moving the cable.

The cable is held by a fastener with a star pattern positioned at the center of the housing. It's the only fastener like it I can see, and there's no release tab or button that I can find. Photos attached ( first two are from the top view, third is from the bottom, and the fourth is from straight on

Where I'm at:
• Car is fully off, not in Ready
• Disconnected the 12V negative
• Not touching any orange connectors at the inverter

Questions:
1. How does this fastener come off? Does it need a specific tool?
2. Is car off plus 12V disconnected enough to move this cable, or do I need to pull the service plug first?
3. Has anyone done this pump on a 2012 to 2017 Camry Hybrid? Did you remove this fastener or work around it?
4. Buddy of mine said just cut the zip tie and then re-tie it once it’s done with a new one?

New to this whole mechanic thing so would appreciate any advice. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Carlos’s expression is everyone’s as the dark storm rolls in…

I’m a big fan of comedy and usually support most but setting any bias, he’s still terrible….calling for everyone’s “unbiased” opinions????

Shane supporting the Big Man

If you haven’t see it yet, go to the new JRE - Protect Parks and @ time stamp 3:07:40. They start talking about how Foley is the best hang and how he’s just the man, the Big Man. It’s good to see the Dawg supporting the Boys…

Blurring out the show?

Right after the first bucket, Heidi walked off they blurred the stream for 15 seconds? What’s the point of putting it behind a pay wall if you’re gonna censor it? Did anyone watch the live and see why they blurred it?

2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid — Electric Water Pump replacement, doing it myself, want to confirm I’m not missing anything.

Shop diagnosed my engine cooling pump as the issue and quoted $1,400 for parts and labor. I’m planning to do this myself instead — pump is a 5-bolt electric unit (AISIN WPT-191 / Toyota 161A0-39025), no belt or pulley involved.

My plan: pull her up onto my ramps, drain coolant, disconnect the electrical connector, pull the 5 mounting bolts, clean the mating surface, install the new pump with the gasket it comes with, reconnect, refill with Toyota Super Long Life coolant, bleed the system. It’s gonna be a tight squeeze, but I should be able to get it as I’ve seen several others not have to takeoff the front tire.

I’m not a mechanic but I’ve watched several videos and feel fairly confident on the mechanical side. A couple questions for anyone who’s done this on the same generation (2012–2017 AVV50):

  1. Anything commonly missed or that catches people off guard on this specific job?

  2. The shop didn’t give me a code, just said “engine cooling pump.” Since I wasn’t told about any codes for the radiator hoses or coolant temp sensor, should those be assumed fine, or is it common for those to fail silently alongside the pump?

  3. Any tips on bleeding the system properly on this engine to avoid air pockets?

  4. Do I actually need a torque wrench for the mounting bolts since they thread into aluminum, or is careful hand-tightening with a regular wrench good enough?

Thanks for taking time to read this and I appreciate any input from people who’ve actually done this one.

2016 CX-3 front turn signal connector — anyone know the actual name for this thing?

Some animal chewed through the wiring near my front turn signal. The wires were bitten off too short at the plug to splice, so I need to buy a new connector rather than splice the existing one.

The plug is stamped “11349” and only has 2 of its 3 positions wired from the factory. Found what looks like the same shell being sold as a “3-way alternator connector” for a Mazda 6 — seems like this housing might be a generic/universal plug shared across multiple applications rather than something turn-signal-specific. I believe it is just a an additional plug for ease of disconnecting rather than having to cut wires every time you need to take out the headlight housing.

Can anyone confirm what this connector is actually called, and whether it’s fine to use a standard 3-wire version (using 2 of the 3 wires, capping off the third) as a replacement? Thanks in advance for your time.

Question on converting my Yamaha QT over to electric.

I have a 1984 Yamaha QT 50 and I want to covert it to electric. I’ve been having a lot of issues with it in regard to the engine and wiring harness. Just wanted to see if anyone on here has done this, or knows about how someone would begin this journey??? Anything would help. Thank you for your time!
