What does this say about what my husband thinks of me?

My sweet husband knows I love books more than anything so he bought these for my birthday. Several I’ve already read and love, but some I’m not very familiar with. What do you think? (He is not a reader and just chose these randomly)

Am I supposed to like him?

I’m exactly halfway through the book. I think I like it? But I really don’t like Edmond as a character! I’m not looking for spoilers, and I understand that not all characters are meant to be likable, but is it just me or is he kind of a douchebag? I feel like I’m missing something. Obviously I need to just keep reading but I’m curious if you all had this experience with the book at this point.

Help us solve a domestic dispute

So my husband decided to rewash a stack of folded towels. He just threw the folded towels into the washing machine which completely offended my sensibilities. Do you not need to unfold them/shake them out first? He says that’s insane because they will open up in the wash. Who is right?

Edit: I forget that sarcasm doesn’t translate well on Reddit. I am not angry and we are not fighting. We agreed to ask Reddit because we are each convinced that we are right and we thought it would be a fun way to settle a bet. I promise he does not feel micromanaged or criticized.
