Flying Cut Sleeves. (Not a find or heirloom but any information, especially if you lived in the Bronx during the 70s, would be appreciated.)
If you recognize the title AND you have knowledge of this era, please come to the front. I am very interested in the process of how vests were made back then. Other than cutting sleeves off of denim jackets, what material was used for the banners on the back? I've heard people say it's chenille. Is that correct? I have never seen one in person and it's been hard to get minute details from photos but I am also wondering if the banners were sewn or ironed on? Additionally, were there any other denim brands in use beside Levis & LEE? The flags and center skull look like they were drawn onto fabric. Is that correct? Also any additional info you can provide is welcomed.
