What about us?

Protests in Arunachal Pradesh intensified. As a tribal state, the natives have every right to voice their demands and rights. And it is imperative for every state festered with illegal immigration to take initiatives against it. Including steps like mass deportation, stricter ilp laws enforcement and long term solutions such as increment in border security. All is fine, until every non-native regardless of their background and sentiment for the state is blamed for the very same reason that concerns them too. Despite having genuine nationality proof, ilps and love for the country, racism is making distrust and a strong feeling of alienation grow amongst indians non-native to these states.

My question is simple. Are we not citizens of this country? Do we not love northeast as much as you do? And regardless of everything that has happened in the past, is it still unacceptable for a non-native to call Arunachal Pradesh or any other north-east state their home? I am not an indigenous but my heart belongs to this state of scenic beauty and outstanding potential.

And not to mention but it's unlikely any non-native would ever become the CM. Inspite of having 100% mlas and mps from this state belonging to native tribes, here we are. With immigration growing with lightning speed and corruption infecting the state like it's no big problem.

And at the very end of the day, when the jar overflows. We are the ones blamed and told to leave the state.
