Still in the Midst of this Wonderful Claim but make sure to push back

Had to make an emergency trip last month for a family matter. Rented out of Hertz since I had done so before at this airport without much problems. This was not the case, even getting the car was a hassle, I was in the Hertz parking lot for over an hour despite prepaying and being told I could take "any car". Cherry on the cake of course was as I was driving a rock hit the windshield and spidered across. I made an accident report immediately and just ignored it dropped off the car and got on my flight back home. Got a bill for $500 for the windshield on my invoice that was pinged from my card without really asking me, which whatever I get it.

Get my insurance involved, give them the whole 9 yards, get texts and emails (no calls) from Hertz basically asking the same thing. Just more comical that I had to keep reiterating "It was a rock everyone was fine there was no issue I'm not hunting down a tractor trailer". I get emails from HertzPays of "You have 800 dollars you have to pay now!" which I ignored, it's why I have insurance. Contacted my insurance about it, they said they are waiting on Hertz.

Been that way for like 2 weeks now? Finally get a real person to contact me saying that either I give them a claim number or pay the $800 invoice that was sent a few weeks ago to HertzPays. I sent back the claim number and inquire about the $500 I paid upon delivery of the car. Get back "Oh this must have been a mistake I'll contact my supervisor".

I'm waiting on additional follow up, I'd like to be paid by my insurer if I can for the glass I'm covered any ways. Moral is, if you paid fight it back I don't care about your "admin fees" if a bill was sent go away. Trust your insurer and if you don't find a new one.
