I arrived in Maui last night. I look at the board when I arrive at the car rental facility and it says “see desk”.

I ask to add my husband to the reservation. The lady at the desk said it’s $15/day so I begrudgingly agree. We’re renting for 10 days so this $150. I’m a Presidents club member. My husband and I have the same address on our licenses.

After doing research, I don’t believe she should have charged me to add my husband. Should I call Hertz now or wait till I return the car to get them to take off the charge?

She also tried to tell me that liability insurance is required in Hawaii for another $15/day but I tell her I have my own car insurance which covers me so she backed off.

Recently rented a car for my trip in Alberta 2 weeks ago.

Paid for it over Expedia and then when I went to pick it up Got charged $150 or so CAD as a deposit for when I return the car.

Fast forward to when I’m returning it , it gets checked, gas is filled and the employee said it’s clean and looks good and I should see my deposit back into my account in the next few days.

After a few days pass I see the $150 deposit but it’s a charge. I scroll back and don’t see a charge from when I first took the car but now the charge came at the end of the..? But at this point I’m waiting for a return. Is this normal for hertz? Am I going to get my deposit back Or am I going to have to do a charge back on this lol

So I’m renting a car and I was trying to use my points, I have 3 free days. It wouldn’t let me me on line , I got a price for $800 for 7 days. So I called to make a reservation and told her I wanted to use my points, she said okay and quoted me $2000 , I was like what!! I said I had an estimate of $800, she then asked do you have triple A I said yes, she then finds my points and gives me an estimate of $487.64 , cool , then they send a email it’s time to check in and add $104 bringing my price up to $591 charges not explained, does anyone have an answer?

Booked a "Standard 5 Passenger 2WD SUV (L) Chevrolet Equinox or similar" back in December for a trip in two weeks at DCA for $257.32 with all fees/taxes.

Went in today to look at the reservation and it says "Please select a new vehicle. Your original vehicle selection is no longer available." Clicking Modify to show me the selection of cars, all SUVs are $340+.

Do I need to change my car or can I just show up at the location? I'm in the President's circle. Can I still get the price I reserved online?

Car was towed this morning. I'm ready to pay ans pick it up, but towing company says they need a hold harmless agreement. Hertz won't provide one for me. They say it can take 10 business days to retrieve the car, where I'll be responsible for all charges accured, along with the rental cost. This will lead to a bill of > $1000. What can I do here? I rented this car in LA. They even gave me the wrong car and couldn't find the rental agreement linked to my account.

Has anyone ever had this happen? I just received my final bill from Hertz and noticed Fuel Purchase Option was added to my rental despite me never having selected that in the original online hold for the car which I have documentation for.

First of all, wtf and what an absolute garbage company (I have to go through them for work or I would have chosen… anyone else).

Second, has this happened to anyone else and were you successful at getting it refunded?

When I apply the Hertz family friend n America discount I know longer get the young driver fee waived from having triple AAA. It ends up being more expensive to use the %40 family discount which seems silly. Is there a way to use the family discount while still getting the young driver fee waived. Maybe it’s something they can do in person before I checkout?

Hi, I am planning on a trip to the Yosemite. I plan to pick up my car at San Francisco Airport and plan to return the car at LAX. But can I ask my sibling to return the car instead of me? The reason is that my departure time is 2 days earlier than my sibling's. He still needs to use the car. So I want him to return instead of me.

If Hertz policy does not allow this. Can I choose the "additional driver" option to make him the additonal driver to return the car for me?

I really hope some one can help me on this.

I have My paper receipts of renewal driving license. Will i be getting rental car with supportive documents like expired driving license and passport.

I booked Rental car before two days and pickup is tomorrow. Today i saw my license has expired on today date. I cannot renew in this quick time. Is there any options available to get rental car.

Salamalikum! I am planning to visit Jeddah for the first time next week, Inshallah. I have a driver’s license from the UAE and I am a 22 year old. I was hoping to rent a car for a few days, but was struggling with the deposit fees requested by most of the companies. I was hoping to know what is the best (and most affordable) rental car company or at least one that has a convenient deposit fees that also does not take 10+ days to be refunded.

I have a manager trainee interview tomorrow with the area manager what type of questions should I expect and how long does it take for Hertz to make an offer if selected?

I was recently involved in an accident with another vehicle while renting from Hertz where I am most likely going to be found at-fault from the accident. I purchased the LDW but not the LIS. I notified Hertz about the accident immediately after and have since returned the vehicle.

Anyone ever gone through something similar who can share their experience so I know what to expect will come next? Specifically, a couple of questions that linger for me are:
-If Hertz (or whoever their insurance carrier is) will be coordinating the liability portion with the other party’s insurance and where I expect my personal auto policy to kick in? Or, will the conversation for liability be between my auto insurance and the other party’s insurance only?
-Will there be an admin fee involved for the liability portion since I am at-fault and do not have LIS?

I'm going out to Denver and renting a car in 2-days, what car will I most likely receive? I don't want the Volvo plug-in hybrid but I'm worried that it might be reading Hertz's Vehicle Guide. Can anyone give me an idea of what car to expect in the H4 class?

I rented with my company to pick up and drop off at PIT. I decided to drive home after the meeting and our travel desk contacted Hertz about changing the drop off to a location in Cincinnati (not the airport).

I drive 4.5 hrs on a Friday, get to the location, and it is a car dealership that no longer takes Hertz drop off. I have an email from Hertz with the location. It is now Friday evening and other locations are closed.

Saturday we have a morning commitment, I call another location and they say they are only open 9am - noon, if I drop it off by then I wont be charged an extra day. I can’t make that narrow window.

I take it to the airport, talk to the manager at the front desk. She keeps saying I will get charged for having it an extra day. Not understanding it was not my fault I was sent to the wrong location to begin with. Said I was having an attitude.

Wrote a complaint to customer service and got the charge removed and loyalty points, which are almost always blacked out.

Travelling to Ireland this week and picking up a rental car from Hertz at Dublin airport. Reserved a BMW X3 as President's Circle member. Any info on if X3 actually in stock or choices available as PC member?
