Hi all,

I have had graves’ disease for 5 years and have had thyroid levels going up and down with taking too much/too little medication (carbimazole).

I just started taking it again (25mg a day) after not taking any for about 4 months, and have noticed my anxiety going through the roof with panic attacks 3 days after starting. I’ve had higher anxiety and heart rate as my T3 and T4 levels have gone up over the months of not taking meds, but this is very sudden and extreme after taking the pills after just a few days of taking the medication.

Can carbimazole make your anxiety peak and make you feel very bad before having a beneficial effect? Has anyone had something similar?
