If a customer wants fabric cut and we put it on one card then they come back around again and want more fabric cut, do we just redo the first card to include everything or

Can the customer checkout with two separate fabric cards? I just want to know if 2 fabric cards work because she scanned it at self check out and both cards said order not found. Took her at my register and one card didn't work and the other one was already processed (despite not working at self check) I tried to tell her it was because it would only take one card but she was the expert 🤷‍♀️

Just want to know if 2 cards will in fact work. I usually redo the whole order to one but I didn't cut her fabric for her 🥹
