So, I only included the dolls in my collection that are for sure Latinos in every scenario I create for them. There are a few dolls whose backgrounds I always flip-flop on that ultimately didn't make the cut. I also only included one repeat adult doll in the final cut... but there are others hiding away somewhere (to my sister's horror).

Disclaimer: Latinos come in all shapes and colors, so I may have some dolls pictured up there that you don't agree with that I'm considering Hispanic, and that's okay 😊

Over the weekend I finally got one of my dream dolls!

Barbie's Rebelde Mia has been on my list for so long, and I am so happy this Latina pop-rock teen is now in my collection!!!

Today my sister asked me how many Asian dolls are in my collection...

... and the final head count was 13--not counting the 3 Indian dolls in my collection, because I didn't have enough space to include them in my picture 😅

Her response? "That wasn't an invitation to take 'em all out... also, that's one too many. I've officially reached my maximum doll talk for the day." 😂🤣😂🤣

I can't even blame her... I've been doing a lot of doll talk recently because I'm trying to make a customized mini-me of my friend as a surprise b-day gift...

Edit: I have made an error, it's 14. I can't believe I forgot to add my petite Asian MTM doll from series 1, she was the doll that kick-started the collection, smh.

Did anyone else use the Fisher Price babies as Barbie babies when they were kids or was that just me?

I loved the babies that came with Pregnant Midge and the Happy Family Collection, but there was a huge lack of variety available to me when I was a kid... so the Fisher Price babies became a part of my Barbie Families. As an adult doll collector that is obsessed with articulation... I took it to the next level!

I made my first articulated baby a year and a half ago to see if it was even possible, and eventually made the other two. I love how they turned out, and I'm working up the courage to further customize them so that they can be the babies of racially diverse Barbies. I used the 2-inch YMY baby body/Nendoroid body as the articulated donor. The first one I ever bought was on eBay, but all the other bodies I've bought since then have been from Amazon (they unfortunately no longer sell this particular body on there anymore, but a girl can dream). They have little magnets on their feet, which is why they are able to hold these positions really well as they chill on this metal candle lid, but they are also able to stand on their own if left in the right position. My goal is to one day rebody my black Fisher Price baby onto one of these articulated bodies, but it would require me doing a complete customization of the articulated body myself... and I haven't quite worked up the courage to do that just yet.

(P.S. I actually have 4 articulated bodies, but the first one I bought from Amazon had a factory error which made it so that the right arm constantly pops out of its socket, at the time I didn't even see the point of returning it and getting a new one because it had taken forever to arrive and I was using them mainly as props... all of the other YMY bodies I've bought haven't given me any issues, but I wanted to warn everyone now that it can be an issue).

I added some pictures of them being held by a petite and curvy Barbie, as well as a sort of size comparison with series 1 and 2 of Zuru's My Mini Babies.

Julie and the Phantoms has become my guilty-pleasure show after I got hooked on the series' soundtrack. I really want to try to recreate the looks and styles of the entire band, and my first attempt was Reggie's character. I'm not totally happy with the end result, but as someone who has never done any sort of customization before, I'm just pleased that I didn't ruin the doll and was able to get the vibes right. (P.S. Started off with the blonde 2025 Holiday Ken doll).
