GE top loader not cleaning clothes and making low pitch whining during wash cycle
This is a GE GTW465ASNWW top loader washing machine purchased new in 2019 that just stopped cleaning clothes well. The agitator twists freely clockwise and catches when turned counterclockwise. The wash cycle makes a low pitched whine, captured in the video. During the rinse cycle the drum is spinning and maybe the agitator as well. (I have video of that but don't know how to post it) What could be the problem? Is it a manageable DIY or should we call in professionals? Or take advantage of Memorial Day sales to buy a new one.? We've been very happy with this machine until now with no issues. Thank you for help!
