Why is she scared/freaking out?
My bird is not used to being handled in a towel or anything like that at all. We took her to the groomer on April 30th to get her nails trimmed and we think she was mishandled a bit. We got home that day and she was just exhausted for like 3 days (any time she'd fly shed crash right away) and basically just slept the whole time but she was also eating her pellets just fine. We took her to the vet on May 3rd where she was handled again but the vet said she was okay and she's healthy. We had a lot of family over about a week ago and we let her out of the cage and she was content and happy to just chill with us.
Now, the issue is that for the past 3 or 4 days she's been more wary of my hands. She doesn't even like getting on my arm anymore. From her perch she's been flying straight to my shoulder or my head and she moves away if I approach with my arm out. She's been taking 2-3 hour naps in the middle of the day. She's been pooping on me like 3 or 4 times a day on my shoulder. None of these behaviors are normal for her. She's 15 but we've only had her almost 5 months now. She also let me scratch her head (recently I've started helping with her pin feathers on her head) with two or three fingers and it's fine (she won't let me wife). When we first got her I made the mistake of stroking her wings/back. But that ended months ago once I did more research.
I suspect she's hormonal? But I'm not too sure why it's a struggle to get her out of her cage now.
