infected toenail on both sides of my sisters foot.
my sister has had a very infected toenail for a while and it’s on both sides. it doesn’t really show on the picture but there is a visible line of where the redness and swelling is, and it’s almost double the size of her other big toe. her toe was more purple-ish yesterday. she has a hard time not picking at it and has been touching and poking around with tweezers. we went to the clinic and she got prescribed antibiotics to treat the infection so it doesn’t spread to her bloodstream and she originally was cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide but the dr said to stop since it’s too harsh. the doctor didn’t even really look at it up close but she said there is risk for gangrene. she isn’t very good with taking medication but so far she has been taking it but she has been kinda refusing to soak her toe in epsom salt. anyway i just wanted to see if there’s any kind of advice or help i could get to help her. thanks
