I’m going to SFU Beedie next year and really wanna go to Igloofest 2027, but I also don’t wanna miss important first-year stuff or classes.
This year it’s Jan 15 to Feb 7, so for people who’ve gone before, when do they usually put the biggest artists on? Like what weekends/dates are usually the best?
Hey so I just committed to SFU kinda last minute. It wasn’t really one of my main options before but I got in and now I’m actually really excited about it.
I was wondering if there are any scholarships I can still apply to right now or like early in first year? I didn’t really look into it before because I didn’t think I was gonna go here.

Which residence at Simon Fraser University Burnaby is the most social? I’m trying to decide between North Towers, East/West Towers, and Courtyard Residence.
I’m mainly looking for a place with a strong social vibe where it’s easy to meet people and make friends. If you’ve lived in any of these, what was the atmosphere like day-to-day? Were people more social or more quiet/independent?
Also, how do they compare in terms of:
• community feel
• events or common spaces
• how easy it is to meet people on your floor
Would really appreciate any honest experiences or advice before I rank my preferences!
