Rejected for TRV in 10 hours (Spousal Sponsorship pending). Reviewing my new ties for reapplication!
Hi everyone,
I am a doctor looking for feedback on my ties to my home country before I reapply for a Canadian Visitor Visa (TRV). My wife is a Canadian citizen living in Montreal. We married 2 years ago outside Canada and have a Spousal Sponsorship application in progress (delayed due to Quebec’s long processing times).
7 months ago, I applied for a TRV. It was rejected in less than 10 hours. The officer noted the active spousal application (which I had disclosed) and cited a lack of home ties.
I am preparing to reapply with the following proof of ties. Do you think this is strong enough to overcome the dual intent issue?
Professional Ties:
- Employment: 2 HR letters from the hospitals where I work as a doctor, confirming my position, salary, and approved vacation dates.
Financial & Property Ties:
- Real Estate: Ownership documents for 3 properties purchased in 2023, with proof of active monthly installment payments until 2029.
- Side Business: Recent purchase of a coastal chalet. I host it on Airbnb/Booking.com. I have proof of income/reservations for the last 3 months, upcoming bookings, and help from my mother to manage it.
- Banking: 5 months of bank statements showing stable income/transactions, plus a 5-month-old savings account with ~$17,000 CAD.
Family Ties:
- Family Registry: Official registration document proving my immediate family lives in my home country.
- Caregiving: Medical report for my 90-year-old grandmother who lives with us, is bedridden, and relies on me for daily medical/home care.
My wife has a stable life in Canada, she runs her own medical practice business and we will provide that she will help me with the spendings there since i will be staying at her home during that period of the visit (which is 1 month long) and she will also write a detailed explanation letter to describe all the activities and places we plan to visit during our vacation
is buying a plane ticket (going back and forth) before applying any good?
Has anyone successfully overcome a rapid "dual intent" rejection with similar ties, especially with a spouse in Quebec? Any advice on how to structure my new Letter of Explanation? Thank you!
