Empathy for my American sisters

I hope Kristen's story makes ripples that turn into a tsunami. I'm child free by choice, but have all the respect and grace in the world for moms, especially new ones. I'm not American, but I work for an American company with many American women. In my country, women and men get up to 18 months protected parental leave, and universal health care. And of course most of the developed world has similar human rights. My American colleagues would return after a few weeks, and would never crack or complain. Kristen has given me a peek at what could really be going on behind the scenes, and it's heart breaking seeing her jump back into work and performance when her body needs something else. You deserve rest my American friends.
