Beautiful show. But so many contradictions.
It’s super well made and beautiful. Animation is gorgeous and I love the character dynamics. But if you allow magical brawling in your soccer match why are we so surprised when people get hurt??
Why is the twin being burned by a soccer missile ball taken so seriously when no one bats an eye when that same twin tried to kill him seconds before (and also before hand with the lava)
No one cared when he was thrown from the floating island. It’s only when he puts others in danger that anyone seems to notice lethality.
Why are the adults running the school? Does soccer not go past high school? Why are Tamas considered a soccer thing when they can so easily be used for combat? Are they old war magic that was re-contextualized? Are they passed down between families? Why only in this school?
I’m sure plenty of these answers will be given in later seasons but what I said about the twin getting hurt is probably my biggest gripe.
