Would love to hear people’s experience on natural weight loss vs medication…

So to start this off, I want to say that I’ve been more in the anti-GLP-1 camp up until now.

In 2024, I’ve started my latest weight loss journey with a coach, going from 102kg (35f, 5’4) to 90kg in about 7 months. Unfortunately, after I reached that milestone I was suffering from intense burnout, partly due to having a stressful job mixed with the pressure of keeping up with working out, nutrition, having a social life etc.

Since then (2025) I managed to mostly hold my weight but I cannot for the life of me get back into a routine where I lose it. The coach went awol and basically abandoned me while still charging me, so I had to quit this and I’ll be honest, it’s nice not having to spend so much money on it.

My biggest issue is that I KNOW what to do, and I do still work out about once a week to keep fit, get more steps in etc and have started roller skating, but the food noise is crazy. I always feel hungry lately, sometimes dream about food, and the GLP-1’s are starting to sound like salvation. I have periods where it’s better and I can keep up more easily because I don’t have cravings but it’s really starting to grate on me. I will never be a person that works out for enjoyment (although i do enjoy skating, i just don’t have enough time to do it enough to really make a difference), and I know I’d have to work out way more to lose the weight naturally.

So my question is this - people that are/were on GLP’s, would there ever be a way to get off them and the cravings stay away? Or what are the chances of the cravings come back? How have you dealt with it?
I’ve been pretty against it so far because I’ve heard enough horror stories of people feeling crap on them or getting long term negative effects, and I’m also worried about sagging skin, although the latter would hopefully not be too much of an issue if I keep working out. But I’m SICK of my brain working against me😭

As you can tell, I’m not 100% convinced of it just yet, so just looking to hear from people in similar situations to me!

Thank you in advance for anyone sharing their insights/opinions🙏🏻
