I have a situation between my friends and I will give context but I’m just looking for a different opinion.
so my bestfriend from like birth is gay never came out to me i just knew he was and two years ago we moved school to do our alevels to another school, with another friend who had been hanging around us for a couple months before we moved schools. I’ll call my bff Tom and my other friend Cara for privacy and whatnot.
so having moved schools this year we really settled in to a new friend group and they’re all so much fun especially two girls I’ve became really close with call them ruby and Anna, so this is all relevant because Anna’s bestfriend Ryan who is also gay btw. so new years 2026 ryan decided to kiss my bff Tom once the countdown was on and scince then they’ve been together (which is so so cute and l olive them for it and me and ruby and them go on double dates even tho we’re both straight it’s amazin)
Now for the main even, so on a night out me ruby and Anna all love the dance floor but Ryan and Tom like the lounge area in the bar we go to so we leave them to it because they’re a couple and they want to do couple things (especially becuase Ryan isnt out to his parents yet). so my question is it odd that Cara chooses to stay with them while we go and dance even though they’re a couple and we have no problems with her at all but she stays with them like the whole night ?! Like us three will get a drink at the bar and come say hi or whatever but she sits beside them the WHOLE NIGHT mean while toms like on ryans lap ??
So I mentioned it to ryan and tom they just think it’s annoying cause they get limited time together anyways and I said to ruby and Anna abt it and we came to the conclusion that it’s because there gay and her friends (even tho she dosnt talk to Ryan) and this is why she doesnt see them as a couple. Me and the other girls think if one of us was together with a man that there is no way whatsoever that she would do the same with us ?!?
has any other queer folk had this experience with a straight friend if so what should we do
also for contexts Cara dosnt actually like going out shes goes out because she gets fomo like bitch whatever and she also give gem looks if there being affectionate with eachother, girl I know better not be homophobic ?!
