Rescind Name from Birth Certificate

Hello, everyone. Hopefully someone can help me with this:

My son (18) was alleged to be the father of his ex-girlfriend’s baby (17). He felt that he was the father and signed a Paternity Acknowledgement at the hospital.

They kept the pregnancy a secret from both families, I had doubts from the beginning because the timelines were not matching up with their stories. About one month later we had the baby over my house for a visit. Her features were a little more developed and she did not look like my son. I went to Walgreens and got a home paternity test. He is not the father. (Thank God!)

When I broke the news to the young lady’s parents, I got cussed out and threatened and all that. It is what it is, they can be mad but I was looking out for my son.

We live in Georgia, the Office of Vital Records says that we need to fill out a Recession Statement (Form 3956) to remove his name from the birth certificate since it has been under 60 days since the baby has been born.

Here’s my question: Is there any other paperwork that we need to do? Do we get another DNA test through the court? Or are the results from our home test sufficient enough?

We are moving to Texas in July so I want to make sure all of this is taken care of and finalized before we leave the state.

Thank you in advance🙂
