Runners - when do you take your shot?

New to GLP-1. Going to start soon. My question is, when do you take the shot AM or PM? On an easy day or on a rest day?

My current run schedule is:
Monday - Easy
Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - Speed session
Thursday - easy
Friday - easy
Saturday or Sunday - 1 rest day and 1 LR (I don’t always run the LR on the same day because I often will swap it depending on weather or race).

So it sounds like Monday would likely be the better day or Sunday night? Is that right?

Thank you!

Thought I would share my experience

Spent a lot of time on here over the past week and now that I’m on the other side of things, I thought I’d share my experience because reading other people’s posts genuinely helped me.

Background: 40yo female, referred for an early colonoscopy due to occasional rectal bleeding after exercise. This was my first scope ever. Colonoscopy was today at 8am.

7 days out (5/13):
Started a lower-fiber diet, though honestly I wasn’t perfect with it at first (still had some fruit/veggies). Tightened things up more seriously about 2–3 days before.

1 day out (5/18):
Clear liquids only — lots of chicken broth, lemon-lime Gatorade, orange Jell-O, water, and lemon Outshine popsicles. I was surprisingly hungry most of the day and these mostly just took the edge off.

I had two prep options and chose Option 2, which involved alternating swigs of undiluted Suprep concentrate (horrific lol) with water at 5pm and again at 10pm. Yes, undiluted. I double-checked the instructions with the doctor.

5pm:
Got the first dose down while gagging. Things started moving about an hour later. By around 7:30pm it slowed down a lot and I could finally sit and watch TV, though the BMs never completely stopped. They just felt less urgent. Around 8:30pm I got REALLY cold. I’m guessing dehydration/fatigue/electrolytes? Not sure. I kept drinking Gatorade and broth because I was freezing and starving.

10pm:
Dose 2. Still shivering. Forced it down and immediately brushed my teeth because the taste was awful. This dose worked FAST. I was worried because I still wasn’t clear after Dose 1, but Dose 2 absolutely finished the job. By 12:30am I finally felt like I could trust my bowels again and managed to sleep until 6:15am.

6:15am:
Got ready and still needed two more bathroom trips before leaving the house, so definitely give yourself extra time in the morning.

7am:
Arrived at the center. They wanted a urine sample to confirm I wasn’t pregnant, but I was so dehydrated I physically could not pee. My anesthesiologist said I was “dry like a raisin,” which honestly made me laugh. Thankfully they took my word for it.

8am:
Into the OR. Oxygen mask on, propofol started, and lights out.

8:30am:
Woke up from what honestly felt like the best nap of my life. By 9am I was heading home. No cramping, no excessive gas, no pain.

Best of all: cleared for 10 years!

If you’re anxious and doom-scrolling Reddit before your colonoscopy: the prep wasn't fun but it's much easier than a stomach bug. I think the worst part for me was feeling hungry and not being able to do anything about it! lol But like others have said the actual procedure itself was unbelievably easy.
