Filmmaking

Ever since I was young, I’ve been very passionate about movies, especially filmmaking. But I’ve never had any professional connection to the film industry, and I haven’t studied filmmaking or attended film school. I’m just a regular guy who’s really passionate about movies ani Recently, I decided to start. I’ve written a few short-film ideas and scripts, and I’m looking to turn them into actual films.
I don’t have equipment or much financial support, so I’m looking for people who share a similar interest and would like to start something together.
I’m also **very, very amateur ,**I’m not a professional at all, and even my scripts might make you laugh But everyone has to start somewhere so If you’re interested in filmmaking please DM me or text me. Let’s start something together

I miss Chitwan

Three years ago I visited Sauraha, Chitwan for the first time and instantly fell in love with it. It’s one of the most beautiful and romantic places I’ve been to in Nepal. I visited in February and the evenings were simply magical. I can’t wait to go back

24 years old, living with a big family, no privacy, and I feel like I’m slowly falling apart

I’m 24 years old, living and working in Kathmandu with my family. Lately, I’ve been feeling completely stuck, and honestly, I feel like my mental health is getting worse. I think the biggest reason is that I have almost no privacy, even at this stage of my life.

A little background:
We come from a middle-class family, and I have several siblings. However, all of my sisters got married before I was very young , so I grew up mainly with my parents and my two brothers. five of us lived in a single rented room that even included the kitchen. Life was difficult, but over the years we worked hard, and during COVID we managed to buy a small one-story house with a huge bank loan.Shortly after buying the house, my dad passed away.Since then, the responsibility has fallen on us. My older brother pays around 60% of the home loan, I pay around 30%, and my younger brother pays the remaining 10% because he doesn’t earn much. On top of that, I pay the electricity, water, and internet bills, and I also pay for my life insurance and other personal expenses . My monthly salary is around NPR 40k so after all these expenses, there isn’t much left for myself.Money is definitely a problem, but it isn’t the biggest one.The biggest problem is the lack of privacy. Our house is simply too small for everyone. My mom sleeps in the kitchen area. My older brother has his own room. After my dad passed away, my mom struggled emotionally, so my sister and brother-in-law moved in with us to support her. I share a small bedroom with my younger brother and my nephew.
I work around nine hours a day. When I come home, all I want is a quiet place to rest, but I don’t have one.My younger brother and nephew have completely different schedules. They’ll play music or watch videos without headphones, turn the lights on while I’m sleeping, talk loudly, and constantly go in and out of the room. As someone who likes a clean and organized space, it’s also frustrating that I make my bed before leaving for work, but when I come home it’s usually a mess again. Clothes are thrown everywhere, and nobody seems to care.
I know these sound like small issues, but when they happen every single day, they become mentally exhausting.I’ve always been an introvert, especially around my family. I’ve never really been able to express my feelings to my brothers. To be honest, I don’t have a close relationship with most of my siblings or even my nephew. The only person I truly feel comfortable with is my mom. When my dad died, I couldn’t even grieve properly. I never had a private space where I could cry or process everything. Even now, years later, I don’t think I’ve fully dealt with his death because I’m the kind of person who can’t easily show emotions in front of other people.
Recently, I decided to improve myself, so I joined a gym. I wanted to become healthier, both physically and mentally. But even that has become frustrating.
I can’t properly follow a healthy diet. If I buy 200–300 grams of chicken or a few eggs just for myself to meet my protein goal, it feels awkward because we’re a joint family. If I bring food home, I feel expected to share it with everyone, and I simply can’t afford to feed the whole family every time.
Because of that, I usually end up eating whatever everyone else is eating, and it feels like I’m wasting my gym membership because I can’t support it with the nutrition I need.It even caused arguments. One time, my brother accused me of hiding eggs in my wardrobe so I could eat them myself. It sounds ridiculous, but I was only trying to hit my daily protein goal. There are countless little incidents like this.My brother often calls me names, scolds me, and we argue whenever I’m even slightly late contributing money to the household.
Sometimes he makes me feel like I don’t do enough, even though I contribute a large part of my salary toward the house and the bills. Those comments build up over time, and they’re exhausting.
Lately, I’ve been thinking seriously about moving out.The problem is that I don’t think I can.
I feel guilty leaving my mom. Even if I rented my own place, I would still have to contribute to the home loan. After paying rent, household expenses, and everything else, I’m not sure I’d have enough money left to live comfortably.I also tried applying for jobs abroad, hoping for a fresh start, but my visa didn’t work out.Now I just feel stuck.I don’t see myself getting my own room or my own space anytime soon, and honestly, I don’t know how much longer I can live like this.Sometimes I wonder if I’m just being ungrateful. We worked incredibly hard to own this house, and I know many people have much harder lives than mine. But at the same time, I feel like I have no place to breathe, think, grieve, or simply be myself.I’ve always believed that if I had a room of my own—even just one small private space—I could become a better version of myself. I think I’d be healthier, more creative, more productive, and happier, both personally and professionally.
Maybe I’m wrong.I guess I’m sharing this anonymously because I just needed to get it off my chest.Has anyone here been in a similar situation? Did moving out improve your life, even though it was financially difficult? Or is there another way to deal with something like this?I’d genuinely appreciate any advice.Thank you for reading.
