Is our government doing anything about these blinding LED headlights?

Seriously, I feel like every second SUV and UTE on the road now has headlights that are straight-up flashbang level. If you’re in a sedan or a hatch, you just spend the whole night drive being blinded by the person behind you or someone coming the other way.
It’s reaching a point where it’s actually dangerous. Is the government or any party even proposing a crackdown or a change to deal with this? Or are we just waiting for a multi-car pileup caused by someone being temporarily blinded?
Do I seriously need to start carrying a high-lumen torch in my glovebox to flash back, or is there some actual regulation coming to stop people from running non-compliant LEDs? It’s ridiculous.
