Baseline Labs

Hi everyone,

I’m 37 and I found out about my low AMH completely by accident only around 2 weeks ago. Until then, I honestly had no idea there could be an issue. Since getting the result, I’ve gone down a huge rabbit hole reading studies, forums and trying to understand everything.

My AMH is 0.18 ng/ml. I recently had a baseline scan and my AFC was around 7–8 follicles total. My baseline estradiol was already elevated (around 150 pg/ml on day 4/5), while LH and FSH were technically still within normal range. However, from what I’ve read, I understand that elevated baseline estradiol can sometimes suppress or “mask” FSH, so I don’t really know how reassuring that normal FSH actually is.

From everything I’ve been reading, the high baseline E2 makes me feel even less hopeful because it seems like my ovaries may already be recruiting follicles too early.

What makes this especially difficult emotionally is that this was all such a shock. I still have regular cycles, so I never expected to hear anything like this.

Our original plan was not even IVF right away for infertility, but embryo freezing because we wanted to preserve some chances while we still can. Egg donation would personally be a very last option for me emotionally, at least at this point.

I know AMH is not everything and that AFC matters too, but honestly I feel terrified reading about poor response, cancelled cycles, low egg numbers and poor embryo quality.

Has anyone here had a similar baseline with elevated estradiol but still managed to create embryos with their own eggs? I would really appreciate hearing real experiences.
