I am new here and someone told me reddit is social media before even facebook.
I was told it was norm to not have your real name or photo visible in older social media.

I dont even know how life was before facebook since I was born post 2000. I have an idea of how it was from shows such as Friends and SATC. but that was only New York not the rest of the world.

How do people get to know each other here? I am kinda used to instagram but now its not how it used to be.
