This overconsumption trend needs to stop atp
This morning I was going through social media and found all kinds of haul videos. Firstly, I don't have anything against anyone. If you can hoard things and it makes you happy, it's alright to me. But I couldn't help but ask a question, how much is too much?
Every other video, channel, new creator is talking about "guys, run". It makes our mind feed to the fact that there's scarcity and you need to have more. If you can use all that makeup and skincare, it's good, but most of the time you're hoarding waste and hurting our own planet. No, guys seriously, tell me...how many lipsticks, lipbalm, or lipglosses you need in a lifetime? I once saw a reel of a creator, showcasing 500 lipstick shades that she has. 500.
GUYS 500. I don't think you realise how big of a number that is. Supposedly, I once had this Maybelline baby lips and they easily lasted me two winters, and here we're talking about 500. I don't think we're shaming people enough for this trend. It needs to STOP. YOU NEED TO STOP PEOPLE BELIEVING THERE'S A CONSTANT NEED OF PRODUCTS. Creators get money and views, big brands make money and fame, and the consumers and the planet lose at the end. That's all. Thank you for letting me vent.
