How far should you go?
Hey everyone.
I'm writing because I have been on the job search for five months. I was let go while fasting during Ramadan, and a few months later a beloved family member died. My adoptive dad is really sick and thinking of moving out of the country. I am struggling to pay my mortgage and make it by with unemployment. I'm married and have four cats. So there's a lot on the line for me and my little family.
To the subject of a job application. I was feeling really good about the opportunity. I have been applying to open positions, even got to an intro interview, and have spoken to members of the organization on LinkedIn. Last week, I was able to get a member of the company to submit a referral for my application. Still insta rejected...
I'm feeling pretty bummed about this one because of the effort it took to get the referral and just in general, this has not been an easy year.
The Question: Have you ever asked a company to reconsider your application? Is it worth it? Any advice I may be missing also welcome.
TL;DR: After a ton of rejections, I want to know... Is it possible to ask for a company that rejected you to reconsider?
