1983 Honda CM450E. Thoughts?
1983 CM450E restoration. Thoughts?
Im eighteen and this is my first ever fixer-upper. Tank was badly pitted. Carbs needed a rebuild. Whole bike was sprayed with rocker guard, chrome and all. De-rusted tank, de-rusted frame. Painted frame, tank, fairings, as well as many miscellaneous parts around the bike.
Aftermarket mirrors and seat. Chain & sprockets replaced. Tires replaced. Fork seals. Along with a lot of wiring work.
As far as what I’ve seen in my bit of research. I’ve seen no cm450s that look like this one. Many are chopped up or very OEM. I want to switch out the pipes eventually but that’s not priority.
Edit: when rebuilding carbs I did an air cutoff valve delete because my rebuild kit did not come with the proper diaphragms. Sometimes the bike putters out when doing a pull and I’m not sure how to fix it. I richened the mixture a bit but is there anything else I could do?
Am I missing anything? And do y’all have any suggestions mechanically or cosmetically? Thanks.
