Hey guys so a couple days ago i got the " check charging system " message on my Acura TL 2009 90K miles. 2 days before receiving the message on the dash i noticed my car was making a loud whining noise & driving kinda sluggish. Thought maybe i needed to change fluids, fast forward the 2 days the message pops up on the dash along with the battery light. I immediately start researching my cars symptoms along with the " check charging system" message & come to the conclusion that it's most likely the alternator from what i read. Well i drive to the mechanic for a diagnostic just to make sure before spending any $ & my alternator gives out as soon as i park. I knew it was the alternator that had just crapped out because my Honda before had done the same exact thing when the alternator also went out. I am making this post to hopefully help someone out if they ever come across this problem! When the " check charging system " message comes on you are more than likely dealing with a bad alternator. Might also be the battery but i would recommend taking it to a mechanic *NOT Autozone or O'reillys* & have them test both the alternator & battery. From there you can pinpoint what needs to be fixed! Hope this helps someone out even if it's 15 years from now lol
