Where are all the wires from my ADT box going?

I just bought a house. It's ~5 years old. There's an ADT branded touchscreen box next to my thermostat in the entrance from the garage. The panel slides up. There's a "old school" telephone cable with two pairs coming out of the wall behind it but they're not connected to the box which doesn't have a battery.

I've attached the photo of the alarm cabinet in my master bedroom walk-in closet. I took the cover off the box and searched and determined its used to convert analog to WiFi for modern systems. In the attic, next to my air handler, there's a power strip with two transformers. One says "ADT Panel" and the other says "ADT converter box".

The only sensor I have identified in my home is a generic motion sensor at ceiling level in the corner of the living room/dining room.

I'm curious as to why there are so many wires coming out of the metal box and connected to the "zones" in the WiFi convertor box. There are no visible sensors on any of the doors or any glass breaking or flood sensors.

I can't open the metal box because the WiFi unit has been securely taped to the box cover. I'd have to pry it off to open the box. I've unplugged the two ADT transformers in the attic. I don't plan on using this system. Also, I disconnected the battery in the converter unit.

I suppose I can just cut all of the wires, remove the box, shove the wires into the wall and fix and paint.

However, I'd sure like to know what all of the wires are for when I've only been able to locate one sensor and a audible alarm about the size of a smoke alarm on the outside of the house.
