[US] Sounded like a scammer, it was't!
This happened a few months ago. I was selling some MusicCast Yamaha speakers on Craigslist that I had used daily for ~7 years while living in Europe, but after moving back to the US, no longer needed them. Even though they were bought in Europe, they were dual voltage and I had the correct US power cords so I also included those.
Guy contacted me and sounded very interested, but due to our differing schedules (his work, my being out of town for a few days), couldn’t make arrangements to meet. He offered to Venmo me the money to hold them for him so somebody else could pick them up later (classic scam alert!). Told him no, cash only at pick up, just as the ad said.
He said okay and a few days later told me his buddy (gave a name) would be coming by around X pm to pick them up with cash. Sure enough, the buddy came by with the cash! So it wasn’t a scam after all 🤷♂️. You never know….
