I know a primary is coming up, but why this year is there such an uptick of people going door to door? It’s incredibly disruptive and annoying.

I was reading online about the Nick Reiner case. He is fighting the courts after killing his parents that he should have access to funds from his trust set up by his parents to pay for his defense counsel.
My curiosity question. If an adult dependent murders their parents that set up the trust, are they still legally entitled to the trust fund money?
