Final bill using made up meter reading
Hiya, I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out. When I closed out my account I forgot to get the final readings and they said that was fine. I got my final bill and it said we had underpaid £1.3k. What’s weird on the bill is that it says there was an actual reading of 38100 kWh. This doesn’t make sense to me as I didn’t submit a final meter reading. I then got my inventory check out report with the final meter readings (31012.5 kwh). I resubmitted to have my final bill recalculated but they just sent it back with the same 38100kwh reading. I’m very confused as to where this reading came from and if they’re allowed to do this. Currently based in America so will be calling up in the morning to raise these concerns but wondering if any has any insight to offer. Perhaps I’m missing something obvious.
