Any tips on altering the shirt of my Maomao cosplay?
I made this Maomao cosplay last year from a pattern I bought and I am hoping to improve it for the next convention as I’m pretty disappointed with how the shirt turned out. I’m planning to separate the blue and the red shirts from one another (they’re were all 1 piece in the pattern,) fix the proportions of the bands and the bow, fix the drooping purple trim, and mainly make the tops more off-shoulder. The neckline was way too big and was very droopy to the point where I had to tape the entire neckline to my chest.
Anyways, I’d consider myself a novice-intermediate level sewist. I was hoping for some suggestions on how to go about editing the pattern/shirt to look more like the reference image’s off-shoulder neckline. I have enough leftover fabric to remake the top, but just have no clue how to go about making the pattern or altering the shirt. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated 😭
