Help with super damaged dry frizzy hair!
So as soon as I learnt about straightening my hair as a kid, I've pretty much been doing it ever since lol. I've also dyed and bleached my hair lots (and did ghost roots 2 months ago) so I'm aware it's super damaged. In 2022 for about 5 months I stuck to a curly routine but couldn't get it right and still struggled to not have frizz and stringy curls.
I really want to commit to my curls and get my hair healthier - my hair is incredibly dry and with all my straightening over the years I've always damaged my hair and never got it past my shoulders because of breakage, me and my boyfriend have been chatting about getting married in the next couple of years and I'm desperate to be a bride with healthy long curls.
today is my first day trying a curly routine. Here's what I used,
shampoo - Ouidad water works clarifying shampoo
Hair Mask - Mark Anthony coconut and shea hair mask
I used a curl brush to distribute the hair mask through my hair and left it in for the required time, out of the shower with my hair still wet I applied the
Curl cream - Marc Anthony coconut and shea hydrating curl cream and I used my curl brush to distribute that through in sections
Gel - Shea Moisture curling gel souffle - I raked this through my hair and then scrunched
I then diffused on medium heat and low speed - starting far away from my head and then slowly got closer and then focusing on my roots
I have no refresh routine currently as I'm feeling a bit lost on what to do and I sleep with a silk bonnet with a silk scrunchie tying my hair up.
the photo is the result after a couple of hours, I know my hair is a bit of a lost cause with all the damage and to be frank I'm not willing to cut it, just really looking for advice from anyone who's also struggled to get their dry hair more hydrated and helpful techniques for damaged hair! and just some encouragement maybe lol.
thank you :)
