I did it! I can consistently finish tasks in the morning. But there's a problem.

For many years, I've had difficulties being consistent. I can't write stories every day, studying is something I have to force myself, and generally habits last for two weeks and disappear. I've also had a big toxic relationship with burn out for 7 years, which I left, and for a year I was stuck in a state of being afraid to start and pursue a meaningful hobby because I fear burning myself out.

Recently, I decided to reluctantly treat myself as if I have ADHD. Then I started to personalize changes to my system rather than follow the conventional advice. That led me to key habits that worked for me:

  1. Wake up. Doesn't matter if it's 6am or 8am (this is important. My life is chaos. I have to accomodate for inconsistency first thing in the morning).

  2. Next to my bed are my writing implements: keyboard and steam deck (Laptop) to write on and an e-reader.

My objective has been to do both those things in conjunction with each other. Sometimes, I'll get up first, take a shower, and brush my teeth. It doesn't matter if hygiene comes first or writing does. What matters is that I write every single morning.

The problem comes after. Once I've finished that, I fall off to the wayside. Can't study, can't review (I used to study for 30min. a day), but it all just kind of falls apart and I find it difficult to diagnose myself. Anyways, I just wrote this because I would lave to have a different perspective. I'll probably try to ask ChatGPT a solution, I don't know.
