iMessage Automatically Reading Messages - No Notification

My phone is automatically reading my messages without giving me a notification. It will also mark my messages as read even when I haven’t opened the message.

Things done thus far:
(1) Hard Restart
(2) Turn off notifications, turn off iMessage, restart, restart, turn back on.
(3) Turn off notifications and iMessage, turn back on.

None of the above worked.
I have 1 other device on my Apple account - MacBook. The MacBook is currently shut down, so it couldn’t read the notifications being sent to my phone.

Any tips/suggestions?

I am working on a document and everything past 99. has an extra space. How do I remove this large space?

Canvas Hack - I’m crashing out

I have a final next week and all the study aids and PowerPoints were on Canvas. I go into canvas only to find this. RIP
