Is it just me, or is the gap between TradingView and pro tools like ATAS/Sierra Chart insane?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been diving deep into order flow and volume profile lately, and I’ve noticed something incredibly frustrating.
It feels like there are only two worlds:
TradingView & Co.: Super clean UX, easy to use, but technically very limited when it comes to real Level 2 data, footprint charts, or proper heatmaps.
The "Pro" Terminals (ATAS, Sierra Chart, QuantTower): They have all the data you need, but the UI looks like a Windows 95 nightmare. The learning curve is so steep that you spend more time fighting the software than actually analyzing the markets.
Why is there no "Apple-standard" UX for professional-grade tools? Is it just me, or are beginner-level traders completely gatekept from using order flow because the existing platforms are just too cluttered and complex to set up?
I feel like a lot of people stay on basic charting because the pro stuff is simply too intimidating and un-intuitive.
Do you guys feel the same? Did you struggle to switch to Level 2 tools because of the UI, or did you just "suffer through it" until you learned the clunky interfaces?
