Finally starting Dupixent for my severe eczema

it’s been a few months since ive posted anything about my severe eczema, but finally after months of back and forth with multiple different dermatologists, i was approved for dupixent.

i had my loading dose of the 2 injections today and was wondering how long it took to see results? also if anyone has advice on how to make the injection less painful! i just keep telling myself the 20 seconds of pain will be worth it over dealing with my severe eczema. any advice is appreciated!

Hypopigmentation Recs?

I have pretty bad hypopigmentation around my body from my eczema. I know over time, my skin will slowly return to its regular color but I was wondering if there were any products or anything I could do to speed up this process?

As a person with naturally tanner skin, the white spots really stand out and have made me pretty insecure to show my skin :(

Advice on how to move forward? (Rant)

I don’t know where to even start with writing this. The last 7 months my eczema has been the worst it has ever been in my life and I feel hopeless.

All throughout my childhood I had very mild eczema on the insides of my arm. It honestly wasn’t too hard to manage and would only flare up in the summer. However, in October, my eczema flared up to a whole new level that I have never experienced in my life. It spread quickly all of my arms, neck, chest, stomach, legs, hands, etc. I have never seen my skin react like this in the past, however my doctor said now that I am entering my 20s, it is common for bodies to change.

(skip this paragraph if you don’t want to hear my sob story) My life has completely changed for the worse. I can’t wear the things I want to without feeling insecure about all the discoloration and flaking and wrinkled skin I have developed. It’s the middle of summer and my friends constantly ask why I’m still wearing long sleeves and pants. I have withdrawn from many social activities because of the fear I have of my skin flaring up or people seeing my condition. I don’t remember the last time I slept at night without waking up to scratch. It’s honestly amazing that my boyfriend has been so supportive even with all the skin flaking in the bed. It is so painful and uncomfortable and it has really taken a toll on my physical and mental health. My eczema has completely changed who I am.

I am hoping to receive some advice on how I should move forward to healing my eczema?

The dermatologists I have visited keep pushing steroid creams, which I have told them multiple times I would like to avoid. I have used steroid creams very sparingly in the past, however I know they can cause TSW and don’t actually address the root cause.

I also did UV light therapy 3x a week for 2 months, however, it didn’t really make a difference :(

Doctors also have prescribed me Tacrolimus ointment, which I am more open to trying. So I would like to hear some pros/cons about the ointment.

I asked my dermatologist about going in Dupixent but they are making it very difficult to go on the medication and want me to try steroid creams again.

Lastly, I have turned to traditional Chinese medicine as a desperate approach since I have become frustrated with my regular doctors not listening to me. Has anyone had successful results clearing severe eczema using this approach?

Anyway, I know this was a long post but I honestly just needed to get everything off my chest. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated as I’m not sure how to fix myself.
