I had three different folks give me compliments because I am from El Salvador.

1. A Store employee (Asian background), who’s planning a friends group trip to visit El Salvador later this year

2. Uber driver from Ghana that praised what Bukele has done with crime and said “in every system there will always be casualties”

3. A Starbucks Barista from Eastern Europe? who praised me for what the country has become.

This had never happened in my lifetime; I used to feel shame as the first thing people would say about El Salvador was “MS13”.

It’s truly unbelievable, it’s night and day how people view El Salvador now.
