I'm having a hard time getting natural strait sticks should I just buy from a store?

I've been on a month-long Journey researching how to make a homemade bow and I don't know what I'm doing wrong I think it's with the way I'm carving it And I would like to start A clean slate with the correct information and technique On how to make a self made survival bow pretty much the only trees that we have available are maple and I've heard that is pretty decent but not too forgiving so if someone could tell me or lead me to a good video but I'm much prefer asking for advice so I can ask follow questions I will also be making an update Post in one to 2 days and thank you if you decide to help
