Mini Goldendoodle Puppy Blues

Hi everyone! I’m struggling so badly with my puppy and could really use some help. He’s a 15 week old mini Goldendoodle, 13 lbs, and we’ve had him for a little over a month. We also have a 5 year old, 12 lb Cockapoo and she’s over it.

I didn’t anticipate how much he would bother our older dog. He constantly chases her, bites her ears, climbs on her, and doesn’t seem to respect her boundaries. He’s now slightly bigger than her, so I’m worried he could actually hurt her like yesterday he grabbed onto her ear and she yelped. We have a playpen to separate them, but he hates it and whenever he’s out he immediately goes after her. Even when we’re at the vets he will growl and bark at other dogs

He’s also extremely mouthy with us. He’ll randomly bite my legs, hands, etc., especially when frustrated. Redirecting and walking away haven’t really worked. Training is also incredibly difficult because he has almost no attention span, and I feel like he’s not improving if anything, he seems to be getting worse. He can bite hard enough to leave marks, so I currently wouldn’t feel comfortable having kids around him.

Outside, he eats everything — grass, mulch, wood chips, rocks, etc. If I try to get something out of his mouth, he snaps at my hand. I keep him on a leash, but if I stop him from getting something, he’ll growl, bark, and bite the leash. So, I’m afraid he’s making my other dog behave bad like getting more territorial and upset if someone bothers her

I’m just completely overwhelmed and feel like I’m doing something wrong. I also can’t tell if I’m dealing with normal, difficult puppy behavior or the beginning of something more serious. Has anyone had a mini goldendoodle puppy like this around 15 weeks and had things significantly improve and how did you do it?

Desperate help!

I really need some advice because I feel like I’m doing something wrong. I have a 3 month old mini Goldendoodle (he’ll be 13 weeks soon). He actually does great in his crate. He naps in there during the day and sleeps in it all night without any issues. He’ll settle down and sleep no problem.

The problem is his playpen

We also have a 5 year old dog and while she’s been pretty patient, she’s starting to get fed up. The puppy still has zero manners (constantly trying to play, bite at her, invade her space), so she’ll growl, air snap, and tell him off. Because of that we separate them when she needs a break.
I thought the playpen would be the perfect solution, but he absolutely HATES it

His playpen has everything he could want:
● His bed
● Water
● All of his toys
● He eats every meal in there
● Lick mats
● Puzzle feeders
● Chews and treats

The only time he’s content is if I’m actually sitting inside the pen with him. If I’m outside the pen even if I’m sitting right next to it, he’ll usually bark and cry. If I walk away to clean, cook, or do literally anything, he barks even louder and sometimes won’t stop.
I’ve tried sitting next to the pen, rewarding him when he’s calm, giving him enrichment, and gradually moving farther away, but I don’t feel like I’m making much progress.
The biggest issue is that it’s becoming really frustrating because there are four other people living in the house who have to listen to the barking, and I’m also worried about bothering our neighbors. I feel like I can’t get anything done because I either sit in the pen with him so he’s quiet, or I try to do chores while he cries the entire time.
Is this just normal puppy behavior at 12–13 weeks? Did anything help them learn to be okay entertaining themselves without needing you to be inside with them? I’m open to any advice because I feel like I’ve tried everything.

Separation Anxiety/Barking ADVICE!

So I have a mini goldendoodle who is a male and is 12 weeks old today we got him 3 weeks ago. SOOO it seems like he has separation anxiety or getting there. he has crate and DOES great (knock on wood) he sleeps through the night and when he goes for nap he does great! BUT we have a pen too since we have a second dog and they’re not “friends” yet so they need their separate spaces (more for my other dog cause she’s not a fan) but he HATES his pen when he’s alone he will bark, cry like frantically. i give him lick mats, stuffed kong, there’s plenty of toys and a bed in there. i will walk away for a minute and he stops whatever he’s doing and barks/cries he will sometimes stop and go to a toy but if i look at him or praise him it’s back to barking. i don’t know how to fix it cause it’s like i have to be by him for every second or he looses it. i know they say you have to teach them that but it’s so annoying to hear or like i can’t move or do anything otherwise he’ll cry/bark. now also barking is a problem i dont know how to stop getting him to bark this might tie into o want your attention cause he will have ate, went to the bathroom everything but will bark too so i dont know how to stop that.

PLEASE any advice or recommendations that worked for you im open too! :)

Training a goldendoodle puppy out of bad habits

Sooo my mini goldendoodle puppy doesn’t listen like at all and everything we tried doesn’t work and I HATE HATE doing this but the only thing that makes him stop the bad behavior is a spray bottle followed by a firm “no.” then praise him A LOT like be super excited right after he stops for doing the bad behavior like i still redirect him to the thing i want him to do and AGAIN praise him then.
i see so many mixed opinions like it’s scaring them but then i saw at the same time the puppy shouldn’t be controlling you and i should be the boss. like sometimes they need a scare and this isn’t hurting him and it seems to work. but i’m also scared this will make him a fearful reactive dog but it’s stopping it right now and i’m still really praising him a lot. i want to know people’s thoughts and experiences like doing this with barking and biting you know the behaviors that are annoying. (i know he’s a puppy and this is normal but he still needs to break the habit)

Training Puppy advice

So I have a mini goldendoodle he’s about to be 12 weeks old. He’s very mouthy and bitey like would rather bite our hands and feet than toys. Never leaves my other dog alone like at all and we do let them like give our dog the chance to correct him. Anyway he gets very “aggressive” in a way like if there’s something he’s doing that i don’t like like eating grass or going somewhere he shouldn’t i stop him and he’ll growl, keep going at my hands or legs or if i pick him the same thing. ANYWAY there’s lots of training that still needs to get done and we hired a trainer.

BUT i am getting so many mixed opinions on how to do it like people are like the bond is important and redirecting, you know like he needs to associate things in a positive way. THEN i am getting other opinions like he’s a dog not a human, he bites give him a toy and if he doesn’t listen crate him put a blanket over the crate with no toys or anything in it and leave him for like 2 seconds or 2 minutes, saying no this isn’t an option like more disciplining him showing him IM in charge not him. I just need advice on how to approach these things like he likes his crate(sorta only likes it when he’s tired) and we’ll sleep through the night i dont want to associate the crate with now a negative thing. he’s just SOOO high energy and i don’t know the best ways to approach him where he will listen to me. people think i’m being too gentle(maybe i am) but i read also you dont want him to become reactive but also need to show him whose boss. SO please any tips or advice

11 week old puppy

My puppy woke up this morning and ate his breakfast ish like i had to hand feed the last bit and now it’s lunch time he barely ate his kibble like maybe a small handful of kibble he ate. he’s not even interested in treats. he usually bites my hand but i will put my hand to his mouth and nothing.

he’s drinking water and he had a lose soft stool not diarrhea but definitely not solid like how it should be. no vomiting so far and he still has interest in his toys ish more than eating and when we outside he was still putting things in his mouth(which i took) but whenever we come inside he just sleeps. i don’t know what i should do

mini goldendoodle advice

hi! i just adopted a mini goldendoodle 2 weeks ago he’s 11 weeks today. we are having some issues:
first: he annoys my other dog shes a cockapoo and is 5 but he just is always on her biting (ear, tail, body), pouncing on her, trying to eat her food everything. i know it’s mostly likely overstimulation but redirecting him away doesn’t work which is why we pick him up and this leads to the second issue ⬇️
second: he snaps at us like if we pick up from like annoying my dog he’ll grow and squirm (ik he wants to be put down but he’s like “attacking” my dog) or if we hold him too long so i don’t want him to think snapping is ok like he’ll snap at our face and put him down thinking if he snaps then he’s free.
third: he HATES his collar and leash he’s like a fish out of water with it like any tug even if it’s so light he cries flops everything, we moved to a harness, now he tolerates that more but still HATES putting it on like it’s an instant no but i can tug at it and he’s not crying and i’ve left it on him for him to get used to it but he still hates it
Fourth: he HATES being alone in his playpen like i have to sit in it with him if i’m sitting on the couch like 2 feet away he barks or if i leave barking/crying. yes, there’s toys in there like lots and i give him treats when he’s in there like being calm and i give him lick mats/puzzle feeders all of that and he will have interest in it SOMETIMES but either he ignores it still and doesn’t care or will only do it for 3 minutes then cry/bark again.
Fifth: the nipping/biting its non stop (i know he’s a puppy) and nothing works redirecting nothing he like play with it for 3 seconds then back to my hand or hair or ankles or hair. i don’t want him to get into the habit he thinks it’s ok cause we have company a lot and ones with little kids like he can’t do that

i don’t know what to do we tried like everything my biggest fear is he’ll be a bad dog or aggressive one cause i hear horror stories with mini goldendoodles. we signed him up for private lessons but i’m still worried like if it doesn’t work or what to expect at all so any information, tips or advice will be SO appreciated

HELP! 11 week mini goldendoodle: aggressive???

i got a mini goldendoodle 2 weeks ago. i know he’s still a baby but there are some fears i have because i’m afraid he might be aggressive. PSA: I know nipping is normal and he’s not going to be perfect within a month and it takes time.

First thing I’m concerned about is if i hold him like he’s going at my other dog which i know he’s a puppy, he tries to nip her tail, side and ear and i’ve seen that’s normal. so i’ll pick him up and when i do sometimes he’ll growl or snap at my face or do both. even when i just hold him sometimes he’ll snap at my face but doesn’t growl. i know they say he’s communicating he doesn’t want to be held but i’ve seen videos where people say that’s an early sign of aggression. there’s no little kids in the house BUT we always have people over who have little kids and i’m afraid he will snap at their face. my other puppy wasn’t like this so my BIGGEST fear is he grows up aggressive. i don’t know what to do and i know people say socialization so i got that but helpful information on if this is normal or if it will go away or he’s definitely got some aggression but i know people will say it’s a puppy what did you expect

ALSO i give him lick mats , puzzle feeder and freezebone but sometimes he doesn’t even want it or has interest for 5 minutes and then is done
