Many of the female pros are wearing shorts and I think they look great when they fit well. The women appear to be wearing them fairly short (about a 5” inseam). But I have skinny legs. Nine months of the year I play most days at my home course in Fla. I’m a youthful 78, strong and flexible and I don’t know too many people at the little northern club where I play during the summer months. I went out this afternoon solo, and was waiting patiently behind two foursomes ahead of me when another single. Came up and asked to join me. Talkative as he introduced himself, seemed like a nice guy.
my first tee shot as we started to play together stopped on the edge of the fairway just into some tall grass that I would play out of. But he walked right up, picked up my ball and dropped it 3-4ft into the fairway. I went ahead and hit from there.
Just off the green I had a less than perfect chip, but puttable and he came right over to teach me how I should have played that shot. On the green he putted to within 4ft and picked up his ball. I had a 10-ft putt which I made. This went on for two more holes, I got more and more frustrated as I made my putts and he picked up, giving me advice along the way.
My only thought on my way home was if I ever run into him again I’d say “for fun let’s play no mulligans and no gimmes,” and I guarantee I’d whip him.
