Welcome to the Colonial Era! Feudalism has been almost entirely abolished, and the process of colonization has begun. It is now possible to explore the vast oceans, establishing colonies and subjugating nations abroad. Subjugation works as it always has. Newly established colonies are setup as puppet nations which may someday have a revolution. This is the time for coastal nations to shine!

They can attack other entities or cliques. External factors will be present, like the various treaty ports, other civil wars crossing into ours, or external powers invading us. Recent events- the Tuvan Empire has fractured, forming various Hordes in it's shadow. These hordes temporarily have the same strengths of the Tuvan Empire. The empire remains in all but control. Secondly, the Vikings have ended their invasions and split into two- Nordhelm and Sudheim.

Welcome to the Medieval Era! The previously existing empires- Heleon, Gnevenja, and Azuria- have dissolved. There is no longer any single nation which outcompetes all the others. However, with new rulers in power who don't know how to properly manage their land, a new system has been invented- feudalism! While this makes it much easier to manage your own land, it has some downsides. Other players can suddenly inherit land from you without your consent, although you can do this to them too (you don't decide how much and where). You can only do this once per turn. You can go to war with the nation which took your land in order to get it back, although it's also possible for them to win and get even more land from you. As a nation grows larger and larger it's forced to become more and more decentralized, until eventually at large enough of a size it'll lose all authority and fragment. It's also possible to form a union with another nation as long as you have their consent.

A few events have happened! Firstly, the Vikings, south of Norlinburg, have begun their invasions, turning Norlinburg into a viking state- this doesn't change much. It's similar to the Normans conquering England. Secondly, Tuva has developed cavalry and conquered large swaths of land, equivalent to the Mongols of our timeline. Similarly to the Mandate of Heaven in the Antiquity Era, this Tuvan Empire will eventually collapse, and anyone conquered will also gain land in compensation.
