Pin to Mobile navigation bar?

I want the 'all transactions' icon to be the 'configurable fourth' icon. But how? I can't find any actual instructions and nothing I've tried poking around has worked.

From the help article. It describes what you can do, but not how to do it:

The mobile bottom navigation has four slots: Budget, Calendar, Accounts, and a configurable fourth. This setting picks that fourth slot: either Overview (your dashboard cards) or Analytics. The option you do not pin stays reachable from the More menu.

Overwrite with budget template missing

I am trying to wrap my head around template priorities. I have used AB for years and it's great because we have always been a month+ ahead.

I want to help someone else set up their first budget. They're currently on CC float plus has to front Tuition which gets reimbursed but can take many weeks. They are also on an every other week pay schedule. For days, I have been trialing every budgeting app out there but don't like any better than AB!

Anyway, I made a little test budget to help me understand how template priorities work. Both Apply and Overwrite with budget template are missing from the drop down.

Ideas? Thanks.

EDIT: USER ERROR. I have 3 different test budgets going, and, as you all have correctly pointed out. Templates were not enabled on this one. My bad.

No Account Reconciliation?

I am evaluating budget apps for a friend. I have been budgeting since the ledger paper days. Then Excel>EEBA>Goodbudget>YNAB>Actual Budget over the last two decades.

There's lots to love about Lunchmoney. It has a great mobile app, a calendar, helpful automation, etc.

BUT, how can you trust the account and budget numbers are correct without a reconciliation feature? A new budgeter, especially, will not have the experience to recognize when something is off.

I'm curious to know why this has been deemed unimportant. Or am I missing something?

Edit: Upvoted here: https://feedback.lunchmoney.app/transactions/p/reconcile-transactions

New User Frustrations

I am testing this app as a possibility for a new to budgeting user that needs a bi-weekly budget schedule. I set up a 2-week time period.

TIME PERIODS: When I move from the Home tab to the Finances tab it always goes to some random period like Fri, May 1 - Thu, May 14, never TODAY and never the same time period twice.

MISSING CATEGORY GROUP: I created several groups and categories withing those groups. One was called Reimbursable. That category has completely disappeared from the Budget and Settings views. It still appears in Transactions.

What am I missing?

Thoughts on a Bi-weekly Budget?

I have a friend who needs a budget :) But they need to budget per paycheck and I'm wondering if ZS can be set up to do that. My journey has been EEBA>Goodbudget>YNAB>AB. I used YNAB for a decade, but it has jumped the shark. I struggled to try and set up a budget in AB, but it is wholly committed to budgeting once a month.

My friend is currently on the CC float and doesn't realize it. So no chance they'll start off with enough funds to be a month ahead. Full time researcher, master's student (fronting tuition with eventual reimbursement), single income and recently added a car payment. They've realized they no longer have wiggle room, hence needing a budgeting solution.

I'd like each monthly bill divided into the 26 pay periods instead of 1 month. For example Rent = $1300 so, (1300*12)/26=600 per pay, and so on. The budget would be applied every two weeks instead of once per month.

Is this possible?

Snoozing budget goal makes it DISSAPEAR!

EEBA>Goodbudget>YNAB>AB

Testing the app for a friend .

I set up a Grocery goal as $350 every other Friday (their pay schedule) capped at $775 per month. There are only 4 days left in the month, so I added $100 to the Budgeted amount from Ready to Budget. The Goal wants $700 by Friday, so I snoozed it. The whole category DISAPPEARED! I still need to see how much money is available to spend in the category for the next 4 days.

What am I missing?

Edit: I can no longer reproduce this behavior, so I must be mistaken.

What's your experience with connecting to PNC Bank? (checking, savings & CC)

I'm helping someone set up a budget for the first time. I know that YNAB plays nice with PNC. It rarely needs reauthorization and this will be a point of friction for them.

I set up a trial account as a mockup and OMG what has happened to that app? Especially mobile. They're just going to want to see their pinned category balances, jeeze.

I'd like to do the same with AB and let them choose, but am concerned about the PNC link being persistent enough.

Thanks.
