Robert really empathizes with Courtney on a deeper level

It’s definitely one of the things that connects them. Two broken people who rode solo most of their lives. I think they are more alike than a lot of people give them credit for. Shit Robert even subtly hints that when talking about the playground convo with Chase. “If i didn’t have you and dad, who knows where i would’ve ended up”.

I think Robert really emphasizes with Courtney and on a deeper level understands her struggles. Human behavior is a product of the environment they grew up in after all. And without having his Mecha Man legacy to uphold and a purpose to fight for, Robert may have ended up even worse than Courtney since that’s the only thing that anchored him since his father’s death.
