Day 1
TLDR: 75 Hard, PMDD, PCOS, and Learning Not to Give Up on Myself ❤️
Posting this because I could really use some encouragement today.
I’m doing 75 Hard, but for me, this journey is about so much more than completing 75 days or watching a number go down on the scale.
I have PCOS and PMDD, and I’ve spent so much of my life struggling to love and feel comfortable in my body. There have been countless times when I’ve looked at myself and focused on everything I thought needed to change instead of appreciating everything my body has carried me through.
Today was one of those harder days. I weighed in at 218 after being around 212 last month, and even though I know there are so many things that can affect the scale—especially hormonal fluctuations—it still hurt. I felt discouraged.
But then I had to remind myself why I started.
I don't want to spend another chapter of my life at war with my body.
I want to learn discipline without punishment. I want to become stronger. I want to keep showing up when motivation disappears. I want to look at myself with joy because I know how hard I fought to become the person standing in front of me.
So I'm posting this picture even though vulnerability around my body is difficult for me. This is me right now. Not an "after" picture. Not the version of myself I'm waiting to become worthy of celebrating. Me, today.
And I'm choosing her.
I'm choosing to keep going.
I'm choosing not to let one weigh-in convince me that I'm failing.
I'm choosing not to give up on myself again.
I know 75 Hard isn't going to magically fix years of struggling with body image, PCOS, or PMDD. But I hope these 75 days can teach me something much bigger: that I can make a promise to myself and keep it.
SO if you've gone through something similar or you're somewhere in your own journey, I would genuinely love some encouragement, advice, or even just a reminder to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I'm going to finish this.
Not because I hate the body I'm starting with.
Because I'm finally learning that she's worth fighting for. ❤️
Yesterday was my day one! It went awesome but chaotic! I was literally chugging water and speed reading at 11:50 p.m.
