I collected cards when I was a kid and recently found my cards from 15-20 years ago and it reignited my interest a bit. So, I pulled and cased some cards that I thought were valuable to me or otherwise, this Rodgers rookie being my favorite as a huge Packers/Rodgers fan. My question relates to how cards were sold then versus now. If I remember correctly, I bought packs of Topps cards, and they were all pretty standard looking cards (like this one) with a few exceptions mixed in as specialty cards. Now, it seems like there aren’t standard packs, but instead things like Panini Prizm or Donruss Optic, and now Topps Chrome or Signature. Everything looks extraordinary compared to what it used to be. Have cards just gotten more flashy across the board? What would you buy if you wanted some standard cards with the chance of exclusive parallels/specialty cards in there?
