Just picked up 1986 rx7 fc

Hi everyone I hope I am welcomed, I will definitely have lots of questions and ideas about this project.

Minimal rust, streetport 13b, 170k miles but seller says only 2k on new rebuild engine. Has a few nice mods bought for $7,000.

10 minutes after picking it up I ran out of luck. Is this why it’s a love hate relationship?

I Finally got my dream car and am very excited to start working on it!! Was able to drive it home but on the hill up to my garage I stalled and then couldn’t get it to turn on again. I know almost nothing mechanical about this car but have been informed from the seller about how the engine floods and stuff. So close to getting home but I end up killing my battery, then the starter. Now it only makes one click and I realized I was cooked.

I know I’m not the smartest for getting in to this but It was either now or never! For context I have some experience with motorcycles but nothing more than an oil change for cars. I’ve been saving up a little while and managed to get this off fb for $7000. Definitely will have a lot of challenges.

The interior is pretty empty there’s a lot of empty space and cables hanging everywhere. No ac or sound system but I’ll slowly get to it.

Really would appreciate some encouragement I’ve been pushing and trying to reach my garage with 2 other people but I’ve given up. We got half way up the hill but with the parking brakes engaged as well as I’m gear it won’t stay. The seller actually came by to help out he was very kind to me and tried his best. I don’t blame him as he has given me lots of information that would have taken me much longer to become aware of. Definitely the nicest person I’ve met and has such a great passion for rotaries.

Starting the car feels really sus and I can’t understand what to do to make it better. There’s a switch that I’m assuming primes fuel but it keeps disconnecting so sometimes it won’t start. It could have just been the stsrter to begin with so I will come back once I manage to find one.

What are some stories you guys have to share?

Desk advice/recommendations

Intro -
Hello I have been using my parents old kitchen table for 4 years and started noticing the flaws of it. Surface is not smooth and has become wobbly and the height of the table is too high. I’ve been really wanting an upgrade since I’ve started saving up but I am clueless coming into this with so many options and prices. A standard I see is an IKEA Counter top with Alex drawers but reviews state the middle starts to sag? Ideally I want to include the adjustable table height for ergonomics.

Main-
There’s too many options and I am not sure how I feel about the price points. I don’t have enough to buy the magnus pro and is $500 for a flexispot normal? I would really appreciate your suggestions and how your experience has been with your desk setups.

Question-
Do most people buy a separate table top and drill into it or should I just stick with premade ones?
I’m not sure what company to pick I heard of Costco, flexispot desktronic and Magnus.

What I want-
Minimalistic look
Normal desk no shapes curves
Budget $650+

Note-
Little experience with drilling but am open to it
